Huahiné’s Atlantic Crossing 2026
From Antibes to Grenada on our sailing yacht Huahiné
From Antibes to Grenada on our sailing yacht Huahiné
This year, the sailing yacht Huahiné, accompanied by four lifelong friends, will embark on her very first Atlantic crossing. From her home port of Antibes, we will cast off on September 15th and set sail for the Canary Islands. In early November, we will join the start of the ARC+, the renowned transatlantic rally, making our first stop in Cape Verde before continuing on to the island of Grenada in the Caribbean.

Crossing the Atlantic is far more than a voyage; it is a challenge, a human adventure, and a rite of passage for every sailor. Every mile sailed, every sunrise at sea, and every squall weathered will write a new chapter in our story.
Through this blog, we will share our preparations, the highlights of the journey, the challenges of daily life at sea, and the emotions that come with such a unique adventure. Thank you for joining us on this journey where, more than ever, every mile counts.

The Huahiné team is made up of five passionate individuals, united by a love of the sea and adventure.
There is me, Eric, the skipper, who oversees the boat and navigation, along with my four lifelong friends, each bringing their own unique skills.
Vincent, my former boss and General Director of Leroy Merlin in Italy and Russia, brings leadership and vision. Luca, a former colleague from Leroy Merlin, worked alongside me for many years in Italy, bringing a wealth of experience. Davide, a longtime friend and fellow sailor, has shared countless nautical miles with me in Brittany and the Mediterranean, and is now one of my closest companions. Finally, Andrea, with whom I earned my boating license long ago, has been my constant travel partner over the years, accompanying me on countless voyages. Together, we form a close-knit crew, ready to face every challenge and share every emotion of this unique crossing.
The funding for this adventure relies on the generosity of my friends, loved ones, and all those who share our passion. Every donation, whether modest or larger, will help cover the costs of preparation, equipment, and logistics. If you would like to contribute, we have set up a crowdfunding platform where everyone can play a part. Every contribution counts, and together, we will make this dream a reality.
We commit to donating 10% of all funds raised to Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), an organization dedicated to educating children in Cambodia. Together, we can make a positive impact on the planet and the future generations.
